an issue to be talking about

My wife has started a blog talking about her experiences as a child with sexual abuse.  This is a wide-spread tragedy that does not get the exposure it needs.  This is difficult reading; I can't comprehend how an adult could do this to a child. Unbelievable.  Please spread the word about her blog so she can reach those who are struggling. People need to feel free to talk about this.   Cairn has done her healing, she writes to allow others to talk.

a simple man

I am a simple man, hopelessly optimistic for the future of humanity, at least on a long-term basis.  I like to dwell on beautiful, happy things, and while I of course know of all the tragic things that happen daily on this planet, it is moments of beauty and connection that fill me.  I posted a most wondrous picture on Facebook yesterday, of a small boy with his head lifted back in a joyous smile, and the camel behind him, also smiling, filling the world with bliss.  I've also been watching the Symphony of Science videos, which take me back to my childhood; eyes wide open in wonder at what the universe is.
I live in wonder, sometimes sadly wondering how the people of the world can relate to each other in such horrific ways, but mostly in wonder of the amazing splendor of this life.

I have, of course, heard of John Wetton and Asia, but what a great song. it's like stumbling into a mine full of wondrous treasures. and going from there, you can weave your way through so many other mines; rivers of music that will lift your heart and inspire you to go further to more new places.

I'll have to see if this blog is connected to Google+. perhaps I can be more active here, and actually write something!

haven't been here in a while. too many other things going on, and nothing really to add, that I haven't said in other places. too many things to read, interesting people out there.
