I am a simple man, hopelessly optimistic for the future of humanity, at least on a long-term basis. I like to dwell on beautiful, happy things, and while I of course know of all the tragic things that happen daily on this planet, it is moments of beauty and connection that fill me. I posted a most wondrous picture on Facebook yesterday, of a small boy with his head lifted back in a joyous smile, and the camel behind him, also smiling, filling the world with bliss. I've also been watching the Symphony of Science videos, which take me back to my childhood; eyes wide open in wonder at what the universe is.
I live in wonder, sometimes sadly wondering how the people of the world can relate to each other in such horrific ways, but mostly in wonder of the amazing splendor of this life.
